This is actually a blog post for another class, but I like this prompt. So, I figured I share it for this class (and obviously for my viewers) as well!

Blog a response to this question: Why Do I Write?
—————————————–
There are many reasons as to why I write.
I write, first and foremost, because it’s in my nature. I’ve always loved to write. I love getting lost in a world that is all my own, and having full control over what happens. I love creating characters who take on a life of their own in a story. It’s a nice escape from reality for me.
On that note, I also write because it is very therapeutic for me. For example, I’m really able to dive into a situation that I’ve been in through a story and get closure for myself while making it an entertaining and/or relatable story for someone else. Writing allows me to work through whatever mess is going on in my head.
I also write to send messages and/or help others who may be in the same situation as a character in one of my stories. If I write something that starts off being helpful to me, but eventually feel like would be helpful to someone else – then I tend to share it with others. I like letting people know that they’re not alone.
It’s become torture for me when inspiration strikes and I can’t get it down on paper fast enough. Writing has become more of a necessity for me than a desire, even when I’m experiencing writers block. Therefore, I also write because it’s difficult to keep a story inside of me when it desperately wants to come out.
